-fglrx in Intrepid

I've uploaded a new fglrx we've just received from AMD that should now work with xserver 1.5.

Please test and if you find issues, report them via:

ubuntu-bug fglrx-installer

Thanks and enjoy!

Thanks for your help Bryce.
The bug was reported on LP some hours ago (#283836)

But I firstly though that my problem was due to the missing fglrx-installer package.

This is a source package, and it is not needed for installing the driver; Am i wrong ?

Installing xorg-driver-fglrx is enough I think.

Again, thanks for your answer. Regards

ubuntu-bug won't work if fglrx-installer is not installed, so that's probably why it didn't work. You can do 'ubuntu-bug xorg' and then reassign the package from 'xorg' to 'fglrx-installer', which should achieve the same result.

But yeah, please use LP for issues you run into.

Hi Bryce
Just upgraded my hardy to intrepid this morning, but the fglrx driver does not work for me.

I'm not used to bugreport, but quickly some info :
- tried 'ubuntu-bug fglrx-installer' but exited with 'package does not exist'
- package fglrx-installer does not exist, but xorg-driver-fglrx 2:8.543-0ubuntu1 is in my repo (does i need to activate deb-src in sources.list ?)
- installed xorg-driver-fglrx manually, it did some DKMS stuff, but 'modprobe fglrx' end with 'cannot allocate memory' (rebooted, edited xorg.conf, ...)

I don't know if I must post this informations to bug #247376 on LP or not.
Feel free to email me if you want more info.
Regards

Yep, it's uploaded; might take a bit to get out to all the mirrors.

Also, you'll probably want to install it via jockey rather than manually, since jockey contains some logic to set up your xorg.conf properly and stuff.
